Rodeo has developed a masterplan based on the current zoning plan for a large area located in Hof municipality in Vestfold.

The plan aims to preserve natural terrain and vegetation, as well as establishing common functions and an intimate, small scale neighborhood. In addition to the original zoning plan shortcuts for pedestrians, a variety of public outdoor space, and a common house has been added.

Townhouses, apartments, small and large villas are developed to meet the expected market in Hof. Attention is given to rational plans and materials, in addition to specific architectural qualities.

Townhouse

The illustrated townhouse consists of homes of different sizes; 88 m2, 104 m2 and 124 m2. 21 townhouses are planned in total, with a variation of combinations of these three sizes.

Juxtaposition of building volumes provides variety, and a sense of individuality for each home. The shifts are planned in relation to the site-specific climate conditions and terrain of each plot, and aims to create a sheltered and private zone on the terrace and in front of the living room.

The main entrance is placed on the Northeast side of the house. A lower cornice offers a smaller scale at this side, which is thought to be the more social side in relation to a common street. A higher facade with large windows towards the garden on the other side, creates contrasting facades in the building volume, and a variation of rooms inside.
